Kazakhstan Krishnas Lose Homes

There has been an ongoing rise of nationalism and suppression of free speach in the CIS. The Hare Krishnas are amongst the first to bear the badge of being the harbinger of the new news. By Igor Rotar, Forum 18 News Service  , and Felix Corley, Forum 18 News Service  http://www.forum18.org With almost a quarter of the Hare Krishna-owned homes in their Sri Vrindavan Dham commune on the outskirts of Almaty already destroyed, community members are afraid that the rest of the 66 homes – including their temple – could be next. "The community is in shock, but they are determined to defend their homes and place of worship," community member Govinda Swami told Forum 18 News Service. He says destruction of the temple would be "devastating". Neighbouring houses owned by non-Krishna devotees have not been touched and sources have told Forum 18 that President Nursultan Nazarbayev's brother has designs on the property. On Ed Bradley - 60 Minutes

The death of Ed Bradley, news journalist of 60 Minutes has brought accolades for his pioneering work. Bradley was 65 years of age and succumbed to leukemia. According to himself he was a performer who could “play all the positions, hit for average and power”. Bradley’s career encompassed nearly 26 years of 60 Minutes. The scorched earth event in the United States entitled AKBAR (there is a real name) has encompassed 19 years with a genesis on June 17, 1987. This is also the anniversary of the United States Constitution and the date of the breaking out of WATERGATE. Mr. Bradley, 60 Minutes and the commercial media are nowhere to be seen in spite of their million dollar salaries. Rush Limbaugh has just went on the air denying that he has “carried anybodies water” in the wake of the solid beating the Republicans and conservatives withstood in the recent midterm elections. As with Peter Jennings, is Ed Bradley, is he “going along to get along or just GETTING ALONG”? Mr. Bradley may o...

Comments: Stuck In Iraq

The recent comments and rebuttal by Senators Kerry and McCain need clarification. In short Sen. Kerry made a statement to students, ''You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq.'' Sen. McCain stated that this was an insult to our fighting soldiers there. The two would be well served if they debated HEAD ON - ONE ON ONE. THESE CHOIR PREACHING ELECTIONS STUNTS INDEED DO NOT BENFIT THE FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN STATIONED ON THE FRONT WHO DO NOT MAKE COMMAND LEVEL DECISIONS!!! In this context I was just contemplating that personally that I would like to thank our soldiers at the holiday season for the sacrifice they are making. I have very little empathy for Saddam Hussein nor the new policy of President Bush. I do not see the morality or wisdom of dragging fighting men and women of the file who do not make the decisions of how or what to do...
